Entry and Judging Procedures

The following outlines the entry and judging procedures for the 2011 Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards.

Closing date for entries is 30th of November 2011.

  • Applications will be submitted for inclusion in provincial heats in Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Ulster.
  • All applicants will be invited to participate in a provincial networking event (not part of the judging process).
  • Applications will be judged by provincial judging panels in Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Ulster.
  • Applicants may be asked to submit further more detailed information to assist the judging process.
  • Applications will be short-listed into a list of provincial finalists (3 in each category) and will be invited to an awards lunch where the provincial winners in each category will be announced.
  • The provincial winners from each category will be entered into the National Finals.
  • Provincial winners in each category will be invited to interview with a panel of national judges to complete the judging process.
  • An event will take place in April 2012 in Dublin to announce the national winners in each category.

The awards process provides entrants with the opportunity to promote and market themselves through the following mechanisms:

  • All applicants will be given the opportunity to network with fellow applicants, previous winners, judges and sponsors at the provincial networking events.
  • Some short-listed provincial finalists will be featured in local and national media.
  • All short-listed provincial winners will be featured in local and national media.
  • All national winners will be featured in national media (including radio).

Along with the PR and marketing benefits associated with entering the awards, entrants will receive guidance and mentoring at all stages of the judging process that will allow them to think more strategically about the growth and development of their businesses.
